Garmin GI-106B - 013-00593-00

The Garmin GI-106B is a flight display instrument that presents VOR/LOC/GPS course guidance and glideslope information through dedicated needle indications. Its integral resolver provides VOR/GPS OBS feedback, making it a focused choice for aircraft panels using supported navigation sources.

Clear Course Guidance

Track VOR, localizer, or GPS course information with a dedicated VOR/LOC/GPS needle. Rectilinear needle movements provide a direct visual presentation.

Glideslope Indication

View glideslope guidance on its own needle for approaches that provide glideslope information. The separate indication keeps vertical guidance distinct from course guidance.

Status At A Glance

LED GPS, NAV and VLOC annunciators identify the active guidance mode. LED TO/FROM annunciators add directional reference, while needles are hidden when invalid.

Navigation Indication Workflow

The GI-106B combines course and glideslope needle indications in a single instrument. Its VOR/LOC/GPS needle supports multiple navigation guidance sources, and the integral resolver supplies VOR/GPS OBS feedback. This arrangement keeps key course-reference information available in the instrument presentation.

Annunciation And Validity

LED annunciators provide dedicated GPS, NAV and VLOC status indication. TO/FROM annunciators show the applicable course relationship, helping distinguish whether the selected course leads toward or away from the station or waypoint. When guidance is invalid, the applicable needles are hidden rather than presenting an active indication.

Stay on Course

Stay on course with the GI 106B, a high-quality course deviation indicator from Garmin. The panel-mounted GI 106B includes a VOR/LOC/GPS needle as well as a glideslope needle, which can be hidden and disabled by an installer if the glideslope functionality is not needed. The GI 106B contains LED-lit GPS, NAV and VLOC mode annunciators, for an easy-to-read and modern look.

TO/FROM annunciators are also LED, and when invalid, the needles are simply hidden out of the pilot’s view instead of using conventional invalid flags. The GI 106B is compatible with the same pinout connections as the legacy GI 102A and GI 106A course deviation indicators, allowing for an easy upgrade path. It also features anti-reflective lenses and LED flood lighting for viewing at night. Please contact your local dealer for more information.
