Garmin GDL® 52 - 010-01561-20
Garmin GDL® 52 is a compact portable SiriusXM®/ADS-B receiver that links compatible apps and devices with weather, traffic, SiriusXM audio entertainment, GPS position and altitude information. It gives pilots a single portable source for subscription-free FIS-B weather in the U.S. alongside SiriusXM aviation weather services and ADS-B traffic data.
Layered Weather Access
Use subscription-free FIS-B weather in the U.S., including animated graphical weather, METARs, TAFs and winds. SiriusXM aviation weather adds ground-to-air coverage across the continental U.S., its coastal regions and southern Canada.
Dual-Band Traffic Reception
Receive ADS-B position reports from nearby aircraft through both 978 UAT and 1090 ES. Compatible apps and devices can present traffic targets visually and audibly, while compatible Garmin products can display TargetTrend™ information.
Shared Wireless Connectivity
Connect up to 2 Bluetooth® devices at the same time for data sharing with Garmin Pilot, ForeFlight or compatible aera devices. Bluetooth audio streaming is supported with compatible aviation headsets or audio panels that support A2DP.
Weather Ready When Needed
GDL® 52 can queue weather data while a connected display is sleeping or turned off, allowing updates to load automatically when the screen returns. SiriusXM audio entertainment can be heard through a Bluetooth headset or a wired device connected to the 3.5 mm port, with volume and station selection available through Garmin Pilot or select aera devices.
Portable Power And Position
The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides a typical operating time of 5 hours. The receiver can also remain connected to power through microUSB or the included 12-volt adapter cable, while its built-in GPS receiver provides aircraft position data and its AHRS supplies backup attitude reference to a compatible display.
Display And Wired Options
Along with Bluetooth® connections, the 18-pin connector and a data/power cable support wired integration with G3X Touch™ flight displays and compatible aera devices. External GPS, ADS-B and SiriusXM antennas can also be connected, and GDL 52 can simultaneously support up to 2 wireless display devices and 2 wired display devices.
