Garmin AXIS GDU 116C 11.6-Inch IFR Flight Display | 010-03001-00

Garmin AXIS™ GDU 116C — 11.6" Integrated Flight Display combines primary flight, multifunction and available engine indication capability with an internal IFR-certified GPS, integrated 10-watt VHF COMM radio and internal audio-panel capability. Designed for eligible certified aircraft, part number 010-03001-00 provides a full-HD glass-cockpit interface that can centralize flight, GPS navigation, radio and cockpit-audio functions while retaining physical knob and bezel-key control.

Integrated IFR GPS Navigation

The GDU 116C includes an internal GPS receiver certified for IFR navigation. Flight plans, waypoint information and GPS navigation guidance can be presented directly within the AXIS primary flight and multifunction display environment without requiring a separate external GPS navigator for the internal GPS function.

10-Watt COMM And Audio Capability

An integrated 10-watt VHF COMM radio supports active and standby frequency display, standby-frequency tuning, frequency swap, volume adjustment, squelch control and monitoring through the AXIS interface. The display also supports an internal audio-panel configuration with a four-place intercom.

Full-HD Touch And Knob Control

View critical flight and system information on an 11.6" landscape display with 1920 × 1080 full-HD resolution. Pilots can operate AXIS through the capacitive touchscreen, two dual concentric knobs and six bezel softkeys, providing both direct touch interaction and tactile control.

Primary Flight And Multifunction Display Capability

The GDU 116C can serve as the center of a configurable Garmin AXIS flight display system. When configured as a primary flight display, it presents attitude, airspeed, altitude, heading, air data, GPS navigation and other critical flight information within the Primary Flight Window. Split-screen arrangements can keep a Multifunction Window visible alongside the PFD, while MFD configurations can display one full-screen window or two supplemental information windows. Available features include moving-map presentation, flight-plan information, waypoint data, terrain, obstacles, synthetic vision and compatible traffic or weather overlays.

Integrated Navigation, Communication And Audio

The internal IFR-certified GPS and 10-watt VHF COMM radio allow the GDU 116C to replace several functions traditionally handled by separate panel-mounted units. COMM controls are integrated into the AXIS display environment, including active and standby frequency presentation, standby tuning, frequency swap, volume, squelch and monitoring. An internal audio-panel configuration with a four-place intercom can further consolidate radio and cockpit-audio controls. The GDU 116C does not include an internal VHF NAV receiver, so a compatible external NAV source or the GDU 116NC should be considered when integrated VOR, localizer or glideslope reception is required.

Engine Display And Panel Integration

When paired with the required compatible GEA 110 engine adapter, sensors and approved aircraft configuration, AXIS can display engine, electrical, fuel and other aircraft-system information. Garmin specifies that a GEA 110 installation requires at least one GDU 116C or GDU 116NC in the system. The 11.6" display measures approximately 11.00" wide by 7.83" high by 4.28" deep, with approximately 2.48" of installation depth behind the panel face. It also uses the same panel cutout and screw locations as the Garmin 10.6" G3X Touch™ display, creating a practical upgrade path for qualifying installations.

Not sure this is the right fit for your aircraft?

AXIS installations require professional system planning and installation. Aircraft eligibility, IFR GPS antenna requirements, internal audio-panel configuration, external NAV integration, ADAHRS and magnetometer selection, engine monitoring equipment, autopilot compatibility, datalink interfaces, wiring and mounting provisions must be confirmed for the specific aircraft. Contact Neal Avionics before ordering so we can verify part number 010-03001-00 and help configure the correct AXIS system for your panel.
