Garmin GNC® 215 — NAV/COMM Radio for Helicopters - 010-02481-02
The Garmin GNC® 215 is a slimline NAV/COMM radio for helicopters that brings modern VHF navigation and communication capability to the panel. Its full-color LCD, frequency lookup functions and 1.35” bezel height make it a practical option when panel space and efficient radio management matter.
Streamlined NAV Tuning
Reduce manual frequency entry with built-in worldwide navaid lookup that places a selected frequency in standby. Standby VOR monitoring displays the received radial, and a dedicated button quickly transfers NAV frequencies.
Efficient COMM Management
Access airport frequencies by identifier, monitor a standby COMM channel while remaining on the active channel, and recall frequently or recently used frequencies. Holding the volume knob selects 121.5 emergency frequency.
Space-Conscious Panel Fit
Save valuable panel space with the slim 1.35” bezel height for tighter installations. The high-resolution color display offers pilot-selectable brightness, while familiar Garmin controls include concentric knobs, 5 back-lit keys and a dedicated volume/power knob.
VHF Navigation Capability
The GNC® 215 provides VOR/ILS navigation with localizer and glideslope capability. Pilots can enter an OBS setting to view a supplemental CDI display for VOR or localizer guidance. When installed with a compatible GPS source such as Garmin GTN™ or GNS™ navigator series avionics, it can also display distance to a VOR navaid.
Communication And Identification
Its 2,280-channel capable VHF COMM radio provides standard 10 watts of transmit power, with optional 16 watts available with enablement. Pilot-selectable 25 kHz or 8.33 kHz channel spacing and automatic or manual squelch support radio configuration needs. Automatic station ID decodes Morse code for visual station identification, while pairing with a compatible GPS source enables frequency ID for tuned services such as tower, ATIS and center.
Panel Integration And Connectivity
The GNC® 215 interfaces with most CDI, HSI and autopilot systems as well as Garmin primary flight displays. Bluetooth 5.0 supports A2DP and AVRCP music profiles plus HFP phone capability, with storage for up to 8 paired devices and one connected device at a time. Firmware updates are free and field loadable by micro-SD card.
