Garmin GI 275 Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) — Class I/II - 010-GI275-02

The Garmin GI 275 Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) — Class I/II is an electronic flight instrument that provides primary magnetic heading reference and navigation course guidance in a compact, round-format display. It gives aircraft owners a way to replace a traditional HSI with a bright touchscreen instrument while retaining a classic panel appearance.

Integrated Navigation Guidance

Track VOR/LOC and GPS course guidance with distance and groundspeed indications when inputs are available. The GI 275 can also display lateral and vertical GPS/VOR/LOC course deviation cues for climb and descent profiles and approaches.

Moving-Map HSI Capability

With appropriate Nav inputs, the HSI can overlay course guidance on a moving map with flight plan legs, terrain, weather and more. This combines route context and course information within the instrument display.

Touch And Knob Control

The sunlight-readable, high-resolution touchscreen uses the available space within the instrument-panel cutout efficiently. A traditional concentric knob provides an additional method for data entry and function access.

Primary Course Indication

When paired with select VHF Nav/Comms or GPS navigators, GI 275 can serve as the primary indicator for making, adjusting and tracking course selections. Its HSI function supports magnetic heading reference while accepting VOR/LOC and/or GPS guidance inputs.

Panel Upgrade Options

The GI 275 platform is adaptable to multiple instrument formats and functions, including attitude, course deviation and engine indication roles. The 3.25" (82.6 mm) by 3.25" (82.6 mm) unit has a 2.69” diameter active display and 480 x 433 pixel resolution, supporting a modern electronic display in a traditional instrument footprint.

Expanded System Functions

Optionally available features can extend the GI 275 beyond HSI duties, including synthetic vision attitude reference, selectable altitude, heading and airspeed reference markers, and built-in autopilot interface support for select autopilots. With a GTN™ Xi series navigator, GI 275 also enables Smart Glide™ functionality during an engine failure, including airport recommendation and Direct-to route creation.

REPLACE ANALOG GAUGES WITH ELECTRONIC DISPLAYS

Adaptable to a full range of instrument formats and functions, our GI 275 electronic display lets you keep the classic look of your panel while upgrading with modern, reliable glass touchscreen display technology.

BASIC ATTITUDE

Save weight and maintenance expense: replace that aging vacuum pump-driven attitude indicator — such as the KI-256 — with a reliable solid-state ADAHRS-driven GI 275 electronic display.

A LESS ARTIFICIAL HORIZON

To add situational awareness, your display can overlay attitude reference on an optional Garmin SVT™ synthetic vision landscape with flight path marker integration.

INSTRUMENT CONSOLIDATION

As your primary flight reference instrument, GI 275 features an integrated display to support all the essential readouts — attitude, altitude, airspeed and heading.

EDGE-TO-EDGE DISPLAY

The bright, high-resolution GI 275 touchscreen is sunlight-readable and maximizes the available space within the instrument panel cutout.

REFERENCE MARKERS

The GI 275 instrument can support display of selectable references to mark your arrival at a preselected altitude, heading or airspeed. Think overshoot avoidance.

ADI AUTOPILOT INTEGRATION

With optionally available built-in autopilot interface, GI 275 can provide precise attitude information to drive select autopilots (including the GFC™ 500 autopilot) and display flight director command bar cues1.

STANDBY ADI

For select aircraft and glass cockpit systems2, GI 275 can function as a standby flight instrument with MFD capability3 for mapping, traffic, weather and more. The GI 275D, a DAL-A certified variant, is also available for Part 25 applications with that requirement.

KNOB OR TOUCH CONTROLS

The touchscreen on GI 275 makes accessing its functions a breeze. A traditional concentric knob is also available for those who prefer that style of data input.

COMPATIBLE WITH SMART GLIDE™ TECHNOLOGY

When paired with the GTN™ Xi series navigator, GI 275 enables Smart Glide™ to give you a helping hand during an engine failure — including recommending an airport and creating a Direct-to route so you can land.

NAVIGATION GUIDANCE

In addition to primary magnetic heading reference, GI 275 can accept inputs for VOR/LOC and/or GPS course guidance — along with distance and groundspeed indications.

TRACK IN ALL DIMENSIONS

For climb/descent profiles and approaches, GI 275 can display both vertical and lateral GPS/VOR/LOC course deviation cues, when available.

ENHANCED HSI

With appropriate Nav inputs, GI 275 can optionally add HSI course guidance overlaid on a moving map display with flight plan legs, terrain, weather and more.

COMPLETE CDI SOLUTION

When paired with select VHF Nav/Comms or GPS navigators, GI 275 can serve as your primary indicator for making, adjusting and tracking course selections.

DUAL ADVANTAGES

With dual GI 275 displays4 as your primary flight instrumentation, reversionary backup capability retains attitude and heading data5 on the remaining HSI or MFD if an outage should occur6.

DIRECT-TO

For backup or nonprimary Nav reference, built-in VFR GPS capability5 enables convenient Direct-to guidance with position depicted on the moving map display.

MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY

When configured as an MFD, GI 275 can serve multiple roles, supporting displays for moving map, traffic, lightning, weather, terrain, radar altimeter, CDI and more.

MOVING MAP

Within the MFD configuration, a dynamic moving map page offers views of terrain features, airports, airspace boundaries, navaids, flight plan routings and more.

TRAFFIC AND WEATHER

With select ADS-B “In” datalinks, GI 275 MFD pages will support subscription-free U.S. weather and traffic displays, including TargetTrend™ and TerminalTraffic™ technologies.

ANIMATED NEXRAD

When paired with an optional GDL® 69 SiriusXM® receiver, the MFD-configured GI 275 offers display capability for satellite weather coverage with graphical NEXRAD imagery.

RADAR ALTIMETER

For applications that require precise tracking of aircraft altitude above the terrain, GI 275 can provide display capability for select radar altimeters, including the Garmin GRA™ altimeter series.

WIRELESS DATA STREAMING

Use built-in wireless connectivity to share data between GI 275 and compatible mobile apps. Import databases. Stream weather, traffic, attitude information, EIS and more5.

TRANSPONDER CONTROL

In addition to ADS-B display capabilities, GI 275 can control GTX™ 345/GTX 345R series transponders. This allows pilots to control settings — such as squawk code, ident and flight ID — directly from the instrument’s touchscreen display.

ENGINE INFORMATION SYSTEM

With optional interface module and sensors, GI 275 can serve as a primary EIS display for piston engine, fuel, electrical and other data. Display space is optimized with bar graphs, bar gauge indications and numerical readouts. Use dual GI 275 displays to monitor twin-engine aircraft.

EGT/CHT MONITORING

Graphical display of cylinder head and exhaust gas temperatures allows you to pinpoint the optimal fuel/air mixture for efficient power management.
